This is just a holding post for fic inspired by the [info]damned-inspired musebox comm [info]fountainofcod. It will probably mostly deal with a Dahlia-shaped monster and a weird permutation of Phoenix that has almost escaped some survival horror craziness. Yeah. It's like that.

Man, the things you miss out on when you drop off the face of fandom in pursuit of science.

Eight parts to the kink meme now? JEE-AY-ZUS, that is a lot of porn.

Edgeworth is getting his own game, complete with IDK MY BFF GUMSHOE? Epic.

The fact that I haven't written fic in so long? Kinda sad, probably.

So, without further ado! 2 new things from the kink meme!

Because, dang, everyone should have a story archive post. (KM) indicates a story written originally for the Kink Meme, (100) a story for the [info]gyakuten100    drabble community, and (oc) an original character.

Works in progress:

Letters from St. Helena: (Prologue) - An epistolic autobiography of Manfred von Karma. Currently G, will get much less nice in later chapters.

Full-length Fics:
[sorted by rating]

Acuity - Miles Edgeworth, off-screen Gregory Edgeworth and Manfred von Karma - G
Glasses - they change the way you look at things.
VIPs - Miles Edgeworth, Franziska von Karma - G - (KM)
Sometimes an honorific is called for. Sometimes it's not.
Girl Talk - Miles Edgeworth, Maya Fey, Phoenix Wright - G
Being a secretary is Serious Business. Edgeworth understands this.
Silvester - Miles Edgeworth, Franziska von Karma - G
One New Years', immediately following the events of case 1-4.
Psychobabble - Miles Edgeworth, Maya Fey, Phoenix Wright, peripheral Manfred von Karma - implicit P/E - PG
Edgeworth ponders what's inside his head.
Immaculate - Manfred von Karma, Ludwig von Beethoven - PG - (KM)
Manfred really doesn't like most people, or most music.
Sweeney heard music that nobody heard - Adam deKiller (oc), Sweeney Todd - crossover - PG - (KM)
A stranger approaches Sweeney with an offer.
One Piece At A Time - Jake and Neil Marshall, Bruce Goodman, Angel Starr - PG - (KM)
Perspectives on the life and death of Neil Marshall.
Necessary Sacrifices - Miles Edgeworth, Manfred von Karma, peripheral Franziska von Karma - PG-13 (I think? What rating does child abuse get?)
A glimpse of discipline in the von Karma household.
The Many Deaths of Miles Edgeworth (or, Five Times Miles Edgeworth Didn't Die) - Miles Edgeworth, Manfred von Karma, Dick Gumshoe, and peripheral Yanni Yogi, Gregory Edgeworth, and Bruce Goodman PG-13 for gratuitous death
The title says it all. Think of it as a disowned cousin of the "five things that never happened" meme.
On the Care and Training of Ace Attorneys - Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright, Pess - NC-17 - (KM)
There are some things the dog trainers just don't prepare you for.
Out of Sorts - Miles Edgeworth - implied P/E - NC-17
Edgeworth is preoccupied, does something about it, and isn't entirely proud of himself.
Mind Games - Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth - explicit P/E - NC-17
Companion piece to Out of Sorts. Phoenix's subconscious really has it out for him.

Drabbles (500 words or less):

Difference of Opinion - hobo!Phoenix - G
If you sit at a piano long enough, people will assume you take requests.
Exposure - Lotta Hart, Max Galactica/Billy Bob Johns - Max/Lotta - G - (KM)
Lotta has the story of the year, and there ain't nobody gonna hear it.
Triggermen and Tigers - Shelley deKiller, Shoe - G - (KM)
A professional assassin talks to a cat, and makes a decision.
Pasodoble - Godot - G - (100)
    An extended metaphor on bullfighting.
Warmth - Misty, Mia, and Morgan Fey; Miles Edgeworth - G - (100)
Police business brings young Miles Edgeworth to Kurain, and Misty has mixed feelings on this.
Auld Lang Syne - Miles Edgeworth, Dick Gumshoe - G - (100)
New Years' Eve with Gumshoe and Edgeworth. (This has nothing to do with the infinitely better fic of the same name by [info]llamaramauk   )
Presentation - Jake Marshall, offscreen Neil Marshall - G - (100)
    One cowboy's annual tradition.
Economics - young Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth, and Larry Butz - G - (100)
Young Miles tries to explain an intricate and important concept.
Galatean - Manfred von Karma, Miles Edgeworth - G is for God Complex
Fluctuat nec mergitur - Miles Edgeworth, peripheral Phoenix Wright - G - (100)
Some things you can't remove yourself from with distance.

Stolen from [info]llamaramauk.

1. The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post it in your own journal.

Had a lot of fun with this, actually. Looks like an experimental instrumental album, but I love that sort of stuff, so.  :D

Quick shading exercise with a sketch. Miles Edgeworth, age 10. I suspect that smiling in portraits was highly discouraged in the von Karma household -- you just know there's an album somewhere full of Franziska ages looking sternly at the camera for important occasions.

On how PW is really just The Gay Lawyer Game:
"When I first saw Godot in the game, I was confused by his straightness. I thought that perhaps he wandered in from a sidescroller to let his laser recharge."

Funny story about this fic. I wasn't intending to push it to the top of my to-do list, but knowing that someone's interested in a project of mine makes me pay more attention to it (because I'm weak-willed like that). So this is really all your fault, [info]llamaramauk. Part one of God knows how many, because this will be really damn historical and I can get on a roll with these things.

So! Here goes the big Manfred von Karma backstory-fest. Rated G, at least in this part, though it gets less nice in later parts.

Ganked from [info]llamaramauk , in the hopes that this will finally shame me into finishing my WIPS (a few of which are epically long, but).

"Post the first lines of fics you have yet to finish." I can do that! Though I've extended that to the first line of actual narration in stories that start with dialogue, because out of context the dialogue makes no damn sense. Also, I'm making running commentary because I'm egotistical like that. Listed from most to least complete:

  • The first day had been one long horror – Mercia not a week dead and himself far, far from the green hills of Delphi.
(Working Title: Reverto, though whenever I talk about it with my beta it's always The Gay Gladiators Story. A kink meme prompt that got way too out of hand. Joey, do you like movies about gladiators? )

  • “He’s such a lonely-looking child, papa,” the teenaged girl at the fireside demurred, looking up from her book and tucking her generous skirts about her against the draft of the old stone house.
(Working Title: Tannenbaum. Sue tries her hand at writing von Karma's other daughter! Whoo!)

  • “Worthy! Been awhile, hasn’t it?”

Miles blinked apprehensively at the booming, laughing voice, craning his neck to look all the way up at the face of the looming, broad-shouldered man shaking his father’s free hand enthusiastically.

(Working Title: Solitaire. It's a Gant story devoid of raep that actually errs on the side of cute. Nobody will like it, haha.)

  • Standing behind the inch of security glass, Miles Edgeworth reflected that the maxim “the clothes make the man” was a bold-faced lie.
(This is the first line of the prologue to Letters from St. Helena, an epistolic Manfred von Karma backstory extravaganza. I don't know why I do these things either.)

  • Nadia was Eden, exiled home, all American manners and collegiate vacationer naiveté.
(Working Title: Seventeen Women. Synopsis: Closeted, teenage Miles rolls up adolescent rebellion with his best estimation of normal sexual interaction. It's a trial-and-error process.)

  • “Hey. Kid.” Damon glanced up from the corner of his eye at the man scrubbing the floor a few yards beyond him, wiry and sun-browned and grinning at him with a crooked sort of approval. “You got creepy eyes.”
(Working Title: Mankind. The other epic project, a series of episodes that look at pieces and aspects of Damon Gant. Think of them as foundational myths, if that helps.

. . . also, my headcanon Gant was drafted into Vietnam. Then he came home and decided to be BATMAN. Or something.)

  • Tuesdays were always slow to the point of emptiness at Borscht, especially late at night.
(Working Title: Metaphors, a GS4-era story I keep putting off because side characters distract me so.)

There's nothing else with a first line (thank goodness, this is more than enough), just a few ideas floating around. Now, to put down the @#!#!@ kink meme and actually finish what I've got on my plate.

Fic I've done for the kink or crack meme, archived here for posterity (also, because the last one is a beast and damn if I'm not gonna take credit for that). Also, WHOO MINOR CHARACTER AND HISTORY EXTRAVAGANZA.

Title: Immaculate
Rating: PG for weirdness
Characters: Manfred von Karma
Word Count: 506
Prompt: Originally done for the crack meme. "Manfred von Karma/Beethoven. MAKE IT WORK."

Title: Exposure
Rating: G with innuendo
Characters: Lotta Hart, Max Galactica/Billy Bob Johns
Word Count: 368
Prompt: Originally done for the crack meme. "Lotta/Max Galactica. Prompt is uh... living together? And Max can be his -real- self with Lotta. :3"

The last one is responsible for me developing a personal headcanon for all six generations of @#!@# deKillers. Thanks a lot, anon. XD

Title: Sweeney heard music that nobody heard.
Rating: PG for mention of violence.
Characters: Adam deKiller, Sweeney Todd
Word Count: 1722
Prompt: Done for the kink meme.  "DeKiller/Sweeney Todd. I don't care what you do with this pairing, just do it and you will make my life. :D"

Here's a drabble I did for [info]gyakuten100, a little 100-word rumination on Edgeworth in Europe for the challenge of "quest." The title is Latin, and the national motto of France. It translates to “Tossed by the waves, she does not sink.”

Title: Fluctuat nec mergitur
Rating: G
Fandom: PW
Pairing/Characters: Edgeworth, implied Edgeworth/Wright
Word Count: 100
